Learning is a tricky things. You can read some thousand article, book and post and still doing it wrong. Why because drawing is an action process. You have to learn what to observe and analyse your drawing. Then start a sketch, start to put shadow and hightlight.

Draw a simple Solid. (sphere, cube, pyramide etc.)

Fruit are great way to begin. They are easy shaped (often a sphere) a little more complexe and the best part: you might have some at home so you can draw in different angle and light. Drawing water drops and glasses.
Water and glasses have two propriety when it comes to light. It is translucent and also reflective. If you are able to reproduce those characteristics. no other surface will scare you. alse as the respect of contract you’ll learn that the edge aren’t always black. Drawing manga
You might thing: but manga aren’t realist. Well that’s basically true. But they have a lot of tutorial.
